Tips for Storing Your RV

Are you getting ready to store your RV away for the winter? You’ll want to make sure you correctly prepare your vehicle for storage so that when you use it again it is in great shape. Taking the time to do this properly will make preparing for next season easy. Whether you’ll be storing it in an indoor facility or in a parking lot, you’ll want to follow these tips for storing your RV.

If you follow these tips, you’ll be ready to use your RV next season, and it will be in great shape!

-Tires should be inflated to the manufacturer’s recommended maximum psi during storage to avoid flat spots

-Prevent flat spots on tires by storing the vehicle on jack stands

-Refrigerator doors and cabinets should be left open during storage to prevent mold and odors

-Vehicles left for extended periods should be stored with a full tank of gas and an appropriate fuel stabilizer

-Wheels should be chocked and the parking brake should be off

-Check all seals and seams

-Plug pipes & openings with bronze wool to prevent rodents

-Close blinds and shades to avoid sun damage

-Empty water tanks and use antifreeze

-Disconnect battery

-Keep uncovered vents closed to avoid bugs
