Tips for Small Pantry Organization

Remodeling your pantry can seem difficult but there are plenty of ways you can organize this space of your kitchen to fit all of your items. We will cover a few of the methods and tips you can use to optimize your pantry space.

Consider Every Open Space as an Option for Storage & Get Creative

There are many ways to maximize your kitchen space. One way is by utilizing the area above your sink, which may currently be unused due to its location in an inconvenient spot near other appliances or potential clutter sources like countertops and cabinets with no windows for natural light because it’s below ground level. You could convert this open cabinet into storage shelves that will provide more efficient space for your food items.

Install a Pull-Out Pantry

If you have enough space in your kitchen, it is possible to install a pull-out pantry. Pull-out cabinets are great for consolidating and their sliding features make accessing supplies easy! They come with multiple tiers that can store everything from food items all the way up through spices or other small storage needs – they’ll always be right at hand when needed without taking too much countertop room alongside them either.

Keep a Handle on Food Storage Containers

Tupperware and Pyrex containers are great ways to store food but they can sometimes take up more space than necessary. We recommend stacking the bottoms of each type into one another from the largest-smallest. If they are placed too high in your cabinets, an avalanche can occur when attempting to take them out which could lead to damage to your containers and yourself. Make sure these stored containers are within close range at eye-level or in shelves below the countertop.

Group Your Pantry Items

We suggest grouping the items in your pantry to keep them organized. This will also make it easier for you to find the items that you are looking to use when preparing meals. Consider these categories as ways to organize your pantry:

  • Cans
  • Pasta/Grains
  • Bread/Rolls
  • Breakfast Food
  • Snacks
  • Spices
  • Bottles/Beverages

Stack When You Can

You don’t have to put all your food on one shelf! We suggest safely stacking items so you can maximize the space in your pantry. Be sure not to place any heavy or delicate goods atop each other; they should be stacked depending on what weight is more appropriate for that particular stack (e.g., heaviest at the bottom).
